Report on the Multeen Way (p/o Beara Brefine Way) upgrade works at Glasdrum Lower, Cappawhite completed in June 2015
Funding secured by South Tipperary Development Company from the Rural Recreation Section of The Department of Environment, Community and Local Government under small project funding 2014
The proposed works involved the upgrade of a section of trail near Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary. This section is an old narrow boreen and is no longer used by vehicles. It had substantial build up of soil and mud which had been deposited over time . In Winter this section becomes very soft and not suitable as a walking route due to the depth of the soft soils and compounded by the lack of drainage. The section is in the townland of Glasdrum Lower and is approximately 250m long near the dwelling of Liam Ryan, Glasdrum. The works involved the clearing of soils and debris down to the original base and providing a new gravel surface and piping for drainage as necessary.
Photographs show the condition of the lane before and after the works were completed
