South Tipperary Development CLG provides quality Community based Early Learning and Care through our preschool facility in Carrick-on-Suir.
Little Orchard Community Playschool is a community based sessional preschool service located at 23 Killonerry Close in Carrick-on-Suir. The service has a daily capacity for fourteen children and is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12.30pm. Our facility comprises of two adjoining rooms which are designed for creative and imaginative play and our outdoor space features a covered play area and a well maintained, safe and accessible garden where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and appreciate nature. Our qualified and dedicated staff provide the highest standard of care for the children attending our service and are committed to providing a warm welcome environment where each child is treated with respect and supported to develop at their own pace.

Our service offers the Early Childhood Care & Education Programme (ECCE) which provides two years free preschool to children within the eligible age range. The programme is provided for three hours per day, five days per week over 38 weeks per year. Children outside of the eligible age range may avail of subsidies under the National Childcare Scheme and our staff will be happy to advise you on the different options available to you.
Our curriculum has been developed on the principles and themes of Aistear & Siolta, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework which highlights the importance of play in children’s lives and provides ideas and suggestions to support learning and development through play. We value diversity and equality and operate an open-door policy to allow accessibility to members of the community and we value parental input and feedback. Little Orchard Playschool operates under the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Service) Regulations 2016 to promote a positive, holistic experience for the children, staff, parents, and guardian involved in the Service.
