Community Car

Services Description

The Community Car Initiative is an appointment-based service providing transport to essential services. This service is funded by Tipperary County Council and is operated by South Tipperary Development Company. There is no fee for the service.

It provides a car with a driver for the purpose of attending essential appointments.

The purpose of this service is to provide essential transportation to Ukrainian refugees in hard-to-reach areas not currently serviced by public transport in South Tipperary.

Who is this Service for?

This service is open to those who live in accommodation provided by the ‘OfferAHome’ Scheme and those accommodated under the Irish Red Cross ‘Pledge Call’.

 

What can the service be used for?

The service can be used for attending essential appointments including medical and social welfare appointments; to carry out grocery shopping, short duration training initiatives/workshops etc.

This is not a guaranteed service and is subject to availability.

In the instance of essential appointments please book as soon as possible

    • Residents in serviced or self-sourced accommodation are not eligible for this service.
    • Your destination must be within South Tipperary
    • You do not have access to a regular public transport or TFI local link service.
    • Any person under the age of 18 years using this service must be accompanied by an adult.
