EMPLOYMENT SERVICE (WSTLAES)
SOUTH TIPPERARY DEVELOPMENT CLG IS RECRUITING FOR CASE-WORKERS FOR THE WATERFORD AND SOUTH TIPPERARY LOCAL AREA EMPLOYMENT SERVICE (WSTLAES)
The WSTLAES is responsible for the provision of employment assistance and advice services to jobseekers in the Waterford and South Tipperary area, to help them to enter or return to employment. The jobseekers in the service are primarily those who are long-term unemployed and farthest from the labour market.
The case-worker will work as a member of the WSTLAES Team to provide services to the long-term unemployed and under-employed in the South Tipperary area. The case-worker will be required to provide one-to-one support and guidance to the long-term unemployed and those furthest from the labour market to help them in their progression from unemployment to employment and also liaising with employers, where relevant.
The successful applicant must be client focused, experienced in adult guidance or recruitment and target driven. Integrity and confidentiality are core to this role, as is an ability to communicate effectively. Applicants should be capable of motivating, guiding and leading clients in their selfdevelopment.
The standard contract will be of a fixed term, concluding on 30th June 2026. The position may be extended beyond that date depending on business requirements.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Three years’ experience of working in employment, enterprise and career guidance counselling, vocational guidance or social work environment.
Experience working to address the common barriers to employment.
Job coaching experience.
A good standard of general education.
Good IT skills, with experience of content management systems being an
advantage.
A formal qualification or study experience in guidance or counselling or another relevant field (qualified to L7 or be willing to work towards L7 accreditation).

Ukrainian Refugee Support Worker
Funded under Social Inclusion & Community Activation Programme
Full-time Position – 35hrs /week (fixed-term contract)
The primary role of the Ukrainian Refugee Support Worker, funded through SICAP, is to act as a support person for Ukrainian refugees in South Tipperary. They will link refugees to support systems, provide advice and guidance and accompany refugees for translation purposes as required. The successful candidate will work as part of the SICAP team to support clients into programme services, training and capacity building and refer clients to other relevant agencies as necessary. Fluency in Ukrainian and English is essential for this post.
This post is based on an initial 1-year contract and is full-time 35 hour per week. The role requires flexibility and may involve working in the evenings/at weekends.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Identifying the needs of the Ukrainian Refugees and engaging and supporting them to avail of
supports and training available through SICAP and other programmes/agencies as required.
Building links between target groups/communities and relevant agencies.
Completing all programme-required paperwork and consent forms for monitoring purposes
Reporting to STDC and funders as required.
